Maclynn International’s Statement on Coronavirus

By: Rachel

The team at Vida (trading as Maclynn International) are committed to the wellbeing of our members and staff. We take pride in delivering an exceptional level of customer service and tailoring membership to meet the individual needs of each client. In line with our values we will offer as much flexibility as possible to include video meetings, extended hold periods and additional provision of coaching or therapy. Matchmakers will continue contacting active Private Members weekly. If we are unable to get hold of a Private Member for more than two weeks, membership will be placed on hold and reactivated once the Private Member is re-engaged with the service. We will endeavour to meet to all reasonable requests over the next few months.

FAQs

Updated 16th March 2020

1: How is Vida protecting the welfare of its clients during the coronavirus pandemic?

Clients are advised to refer to the government guidelines of their country or country they are visiting for guidance on travel and social contact.

Video calls will replace in-person meetings as appropriate and within consent from relevant parties.

2: I’m in self-isolation. How can I make the most of my service during this time?

A significant proportion of a matchmaker’s role involves searching for suitable matches and profiling matches. Profiling can be conducted effectively by phone and video. While you’re in self-isolation or having to work from home, this could be a good opportunity for you to be in regular contact with your matchmaker. Matchmakers will also find it easier to get hold of matches, many of whom will also be home working and yearning for a healthy distraction and some form of social contact.

3: Vida offers video dates. How does this work?

Video dates are common place amongst our international clients, who find huge value in meeting their match by video before making travel plans to meet in person. Your matchmaker will assist you with setting up an account on Skype/Facetime/Zoom etc and offer guidance on how to conduct the video date.

4: I want to put a pause on dating until this crisis is over. What happens with my membership?

Your membership will be placed on hold and reactivated once you are ready to re-engage in the process. Please speak to your matchmaker to discuss.

5: I’ve signed up for an international search, but cannot travel due to travel bans. What happens with my membership?

There are various options that your matchmaker can discuss with you, including video dates, matchmakers front-loading their search activities in preparation for future dating, or placing your membership on hold.

6: I am in self-isolation with my partner and its taking its toll on our relationship. How can Vida help?

We have a team of relationship experts on hand to assist! We can offer various forms of coaching and therapy. Please speak with your matchmaker for more details.

7: What happens if my matchmaker becomes ill?

Although you have a dedicated matchmaker, we work closely as a team within each office and across offices. If your matchmaker becomes unwell, you will be offered the option of working temporarily with another matchmaker, or having your membership placed on hold until your matchmaker returns to work.

8: I have booked a ticket for a Vida event. What happens if the event is cancelled or postponed?

You will be offered the choice between a refund or moving your ticket to a future event.
