Meditation for Healing Your Love Relationship

Meditation has been the cornerstone of spiritual practices for thousands of years. It has been proven by scientific research to be one of the most potent and lasting destressors. I believe that the reason it is so effective is that meditation can put you in touch with a Higher Power or the Infinite Loving Presence so that you become more benevolent and less emotionally reactive. You can see how being more at peace and less reactive could benefit you and your couple. Through meditation you give yourself a journey to being one with your Higher Power. Centered in this kind of consciousness, you will bring healing, emotional connection, truth, and solutions to those around you—and most especially to your Beloved. In that spirit, I’ve developed a guided meditation for healing your relationship. This meditation is my gift to you and your partner.

The Loving Mother (Angel or Goddess) Meditation

For those of you who want a longer guided mediation experience, I’ve developed one that can help you build love based on the archetype of an unconditionally loving mother. Not your real mother, even if she was unconditionally caring! If the word “mother” brings negative associations to mind, you can substitute “angel” or “goddess.” I’ve included a free MP3 Bonus download for readers of this post. Practicing this meditation will soothe your fears and build a more peaceful and empowered sense of self that helps you move forward with your Beloved.

Start by simply reading over the meditation. Then sit in a comfortable private place. Put on uplifting or inspirational music, close your eyes, and take some deep breaths to relax. Listen for about five minutes. After the music ends, turn on the recording you have downloaded. (Or if you would like, slowly reread each paragraph of the guided meditation to yourself and then take a few seconds to close your eyes and imagine it happening.) Let whatever images come up play out in your mind.

Practicing this guided imagery is like feeding yourself extremely nutritious food—but food you can use to build your mind and soul instead of your body. In this meditation you will be working with the imagery of purifying beams of light that come into your heart and then move like a bridge from there to your Beloved’s heart. It helps you develop positive associations about yourself and your relationship. Feel free to go with any other loving images that might come to mind as you do the meditation. The wording is intentionally repetitive to help you go deeper and deeper into the healing imagery. This exercise only takes about fifteen minutes but I assure you that it is truly powerful.

The Loving Mother Meditation for Healing Your Relationship:Part I

Imagine a special place, a place in nature that is just right for you. Your own special place. It may be on a beach, in a meadow, or on a mountaintop. It’s a place where you feel safe: you can feel the ground underneath you, see the sky above, feel the air brush against your cheek, hear the wonderful sounds. You know that you are in a place that is just right for you—all the right feelings, all the right sights, all the right sounds. Feeling safe, secure, content, happy. Go there right now.
***
Imagine a loving maternal presence, the Great Earth Mother or Goddess, holding you in a tender way. A comfortable way that is just right for you. She may remind you of a very loving person you once saw, or of a saint or goddess figure. And as you feel her tender touch, see her beaming open smile, feel her eyes looking deeply into yours, catch her lightly perfumed scent—it is remarkably easy and effortless to take in her great appreciation and delight in you.
She knows your perfection, the perfection of the Divine. As she looks deep into you, her gaze melts away your fears, your walls, your need to protect. You feel so good and know that all is right.

Loving Mother Meditation for Healing Your Relationship: Part II

Imagine gently floating out of your body and into hers—so that you can see what she sees and feel what she feels, hear your voice the way she hears it. And looking through her eyes, you can’t help but be struck by the fact of your real innocence, your special beauty and radiance.
***
Now imagine floating back into your body, and feel her love coming to you. And you know that it is the love that is meant just for you. It may be like a flowing light that changes colors—now purple, now blue, now golden. The love is filling you with warmth and such a good, good feeling. The love may come as a melody, a love song that you hear coming from her heart to yours.
***
Become one with the Great Mother. Now you have absolute trust in yourself, your own intuition, your own strength, and your ability to speak truth. Fully empowered and loving. Looking through her eyes, you can’t help but be struck by the fact of your real innocence, your special beauty and radiance. You feel so good about yourself, so very good—better than you’ve ever felt before.
***
Park the feeling of being in love permanently in the deepest part of your heart so that it can be with you 24-7. Take love’s feeling, love’s light, love’s melody with you, wherever and whenever. While you are sleeping, while you are walking down the street, while you work.
***

Loving Mother Meditation for Healing Your Relationship: Part III

Focus that love into a golden beam of light coming forth from your heart and flowing into your Beloved’s heart. So that any pains or heartbreak in his or her heart fall away like dark chips. Send him or her the healing light.
***
Imagine purifying golden beams of light pouring forth from his or her heart to yours, cleaning out your pain and heartbreak, which fall away like dark chips. Feel and receive the healing light.
***
Now, once again, focus that love into a golden beam of light coming forth from your heart and flowing into your Beloved’s heart. So that any pains or heartbreak in his or her heart fall away like dark chips. Send him or her the healing light.
***
Imagine purifying golden beams of light pouring forth from his or her heart to yours, cleaning out your pain and heartbreak, which fall away like dark chips.
***

Expand the light of love so that it surrounds both of you. Face each other and feel the oneness of your being and know that your joy is his joy and his joy is yours. Park the feeling of a love connection with your Beloved permanently in the deepest part of your heart so that it can be with you 24-7. From now on take that shared feeling, shared light, the shared love melody with you, wherever and whenever. While you are sleeping, while you are walking down the street, while you work. Know that your hearts are one.

Bottom Line: Meditation For Healing Your Relationship

Remember that this meditation only takes about fifteen minutes to complete. You can do part of it or the whole thing. Use it to center yourself before you have a difficult talk, to calm yourself down after a fight, or to stop from binge eating or drinking. Use it to prevent yourself from making a phone call or sending an email or text that you’ll regret later. Nourishing yourself with a loving meditation will restore you to sanity, hope, and happiness. Believe me, all will be brighter.
