Insights from Dr. Kim: What Will You Choose?

By: Kim Kimberling

I decided a long time ago that I would never be able to understand God completely. I came to that conclusion for a couple of reasons. Number one is that if I could completely comprehend everything about God, He would not be God. God is greater than I can imagine. Number two, God created everything and as I look at this world there is no way I can get my mind around all of His creation. There is creation that I have never seen and that I will never see. Yet, with all of the awesomeness surrounding God, He created me and has a plan for my life. He knew me before I was ever born.

You know what else He created? Marriage. He created your marriage and my marriage and I believe has a plan for them too. Look at it this way. God made you and your spouse. You are both unique. There will never be another you or your spouse. That also means your marriage is unique. There will never be another marriage like yours. God knows marriage and He knows your marriage. He knows exactly what you need, exactly what your spouse needs, and exactly what your marriage needs.

That brings us to a choice. Will you do marriage your way and ignore God, or do you seek Him and His plan for your marriage? Will you choose you or choose God? I have not always chosen His ways, but today I do. If you choose God, do you really have anything to lose? If I am wrong in what I am telling you, you may decide that you have wasted a few days that, honestly,  you might have wasted anyway. Yet, what if I am right? You could have a life and marriage that are better than anything you could ever imagine. It’s your turn. It’s your choice. Your way or God’s way. What will you choose?
